Happy New Year!!!

It is 2008 and I for one am looking forward to an amazing year. I hope that everyone out there in San Juan 21 land had the happiest of holidays and got lots of great sailing gifts from Santa. I also wanted to post some pictures of the 2007 Fleet #1 award ceremony and congratulate Jack and Stephen on their respective victories.
Today as I was taking the lights down off of Limpet, I found myself very excited for the year to come. I am looking forward to a year of growth and adventures. So with that I would like to document my new year’s sailing resolutions:
- Compete at the Western Nationals
- Install an adjustable backstay
- Beat Wooglin in at least one race
- Take Limpet for her first Cruise
- Practice my starts
- Write a post a week
- Take first place in 1 of the Fleet #1 Race Series
- Learn to sail a spinnaker
- Wear a life jacket every race
I was a little sad to take the lights off of Limpet, as it made me feel warm and fuzzy each night pulling up to my house with her all light up. However, I need to get her under a tarp to help preserve the boat and finish. I had my San Juan 21 parked on the grass strip by my garage for over a year, until a parking enforcer from the city of Seattle told me that I was illegally parked on city property. The solution was simple pull the trailer up on my front lawn for the whole neighborhood to enjoy. Sure it tore up my lawn something fierce but I am much more attached to my boat than my lawn. I am not sure all my neighbors would agree with my priorities tough.
Here are some pictures from the fleet 1 award ceremony and holiday party. It was a fun time with good food and good friends. I continue to pat myself on the back for selecting a San Juan 21 and getting the great benefits which come with membership in Fleet #1.
Congratulations Jack!

Congratulations Stephen!

Color photos gennerally do not meet with my style guidline for LimpetRacing but Limpet looked Sooooo Good with her lights I decided one color picture is OK.

Andy-
I love the photo of Limpet with Xmas lights. Something for me to think about for next year. Just a couple of more weeks till the Spring clinic.
Thanks Fauso! I am looking forward to the clinic… I am having withdrawls from the water. See you on the 17th for our meeting!
